The England Hockey Premier Division for Women is the highest level of women's club field hockey in England, bringing together the country's 12 leading teams to compete for the national championship. Organised by England Hockey, the competition features some of the finest domestic and international hockey players, representing established clubs such as Surbiton, East Grinstead, Hampstead & Westminster, Wimbledon and Reading. The 2026/27 season begins with Phase 1, in which all 12 teams play each other once, producing 66 fixtures across 11 rounds. The league then divides into a Top Six and Lower Six for Phase 2, with each team playing five additional matches. The competition subsequently progresses to Phase 3, featuring championship and relegation play-offs, before culminating in a Finals Weekend to determine the Premier Division champions. With promotion and relegation linking the Premier Division to Division One North and South, the competition offers excitement throughout the season, from the opening fixtures to the decisive championship matches.
